Friends Remembered

Grieving for the loss of a pet, whether through death or enforced separation, can be a sad and difficult experience. Life once filled with the love and friendship of a pet may suddenly seem very empty and feelings of despair and loneliness are not uncommon.

Sometimes it helps to share these feelings with someone who knows from personal experience how distressing the loss of a pet can be, and who will listen with compassion and without judgement. Please look into the resources on our End of Life and Pet Loss page for further support. Our chief executive, Vicki Adams, also has experience helping pet owners deal with the loss of their pet and she has completed the Pet Bereavement Counsellor Diploma Course by the Centre of Excellence.

The Friends Remembered Gallery is where you can pay tribute to a beloved pet that you have lost to cancer and thereby create a lasting memorial.

To create your special memorial, please email the details to us together with a photograph (if you choose) of your pet. The photo needs to be of a certain size although most photos taken on mobile phones will work.

You may wish to give a small donation to the charity for your pet's memorial. Your donation will help enable the Animal Cancer Trust to work towards their aims of gaining a better understanding of cancer and ultimately provide better treatments in the future. In return you will have a lasting tribute on our website for your special friend.

Please remember that photographs should be your own and not have any copyright restriction.

The Animal Cancer Trust reserves the right to edit any memorials as necessary.
